Go to https://meet.google.com
Click Join or start a meeting
Give your lesson a name, eg YR 12 math, Select continue
Click Join now
Copy Meeting URL, the link format will be https://meet.google.com/………..
Email this meeting URL to students in SEQTA
Select X to close the prompt, wait for students to join meeting
If you are prompted to allow your microphone or camera select “allow”
You can switch the camera that is displayed, select the three dots in the bottom right of the screen and select switch camera.
To display your computer’s screen instead of the webcam click present now, be mindful that you do not show student sensitive material.
If you wish to record the meeting select the three dots in the bottom right of the screen and select “Record Meeting.” The recording will automatically save to your google drive, you can share a link to this file in Seqta if you wish.
Recording lessons
Teachers can use either Google Meet or WeVideo
If using Google Meet to record a lesson follow the instructions above (Interactive lesson). Nobody else needs to join the lesson. You can freely switch between the webcam and your computer screen while recording.
WeVideo
WeVideo is an online video editor, you may wish to use WeVideo if you want to edit your recordings in more depth.
If you wish to use WeVideo to create lessons please create a ticket with I.T. ([email protected]) so an account can be provisioned to you.
Once your WeVideo account has been assigned go to https://www.wevideo.com/
Sign in with google using your @prescottsouthern.sa.edu.au account.

We recommend storing the video in google drive, setting share permissions for students and placing a link on Seqta.
Contacting students via Google Hangouts
You may wish to contact your students via Google Hangouts (chat function). Google chat can be used to have one one one or group discussions. Participants can Upload items from Drive, and collaborate on Docs, Sheets, or Slides.
